Altinkum

Altinkum is situated on the Aegean coastline of Turkey, just 35km distance from Apollonium Spa & Beach Resort. The town is like so many other resorts in this part of Turkey frequented by many tourists, in peak season it is a firm favourite with holidaying Turks, however you will find that it has retained its more traditional values and Turkish charm.

If you want a resort where you can relax and unwind then this is the place to go, the great thing about Altinkum is that it is perfect not only for couples but those with young children,  three very long sandy beaches and safe shallow waters mean children can enjoy the beach and the water safely.

Although you can spend plenty of time on the beach there are numerous shops and a modern shopping mall within the town itself that you can wander around, in addition, there are opportunities to get some great bargains if you are willing to participate in the art of haggling like the Turkish do. Along with the traditional souvenirs there are some wonderful clothes and jewellery stores to spend time in, perusing what is on offer.

Even though you are staying in self catering accommodation at Apollonium Spa & Beach resort when visiting Turkey there are going to be times when you won’t want to cook. If you visit Altinkum there are plenty of wonderful restaurants that you can try and offer a wide variety of different cuisines.

As well as restaurants that offer local Turkish delicacies there are numerous restaurants that can provide you with traditional English food as well. Also for those who want something a bit more, by wandering further away from the port towards the centre of the town around the Dolphin Square area, you will find a number of Chinese and Indian restaurants all serving delicious dishes.

Dolphin Sqaure also comes alive at night and is the focus of the nightlife, wander along the seafront and admire the twinkling lights from other towns across the bay and then head to the square where you might catch some traditional turkish folk music called Turku. Many of the discos in Altinkum are located inside the hotels.
