Turkey is tops!

Turkey has been one of the most popular holiday resorts this year attracting some 25 million visitors in the first nine months - 10 per cent up on the same period last year.

According to figures from The Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat) the largest number of tourists came from Germany, followed by Russia and then Britain. The country’s attraction is down to a combination of exceptional value (and a very favourable exchange rate), weather, culture and beaches.

The Turkish ministry of culture and tourism are predicting that by the end of this year the total number of tourists visiting Turkey will reach 30 million.
